Late Night Reminiscing
I remember when Bobby and I moved here with our girls and built our house 31 years ago.
My brother had recently died and Bobby said to me “I believe moving next to your mom and dad is what the Lord wants us to do.”
I told him “you must be crazy!”
I couldn’t imagine living next to my parents! I had done everything I could to get away from them. Yet, God knew what I needed more than my selfish desires.
I will admit I held a huge resentment against both my father and mother in my 20’s and 30’s. It wasn’t until my 40’s when I became repentant and began to appreciate them as I should have. I regret my ignorance.
Aren’t we that way with God though? Don’t we assume we know more than Him? Don’t we pretend we don’t need Him!? Foolish to admit we are lost without Him.
Where would we be without His presence and His love and mercy?
Where would I be if He didn’t love me?
