Share a lesson you wish you had learned earlier in life.
Living to impress or please others is the greatest mistake anyone can make.
There is a saying “to thine own self be true.” I disagree instead “to the call of God be true.”
Whatever call (gift) God has given you is to be used for His work and glory. What others think of you isn’t important. Fulfillment of your call is all that matters.
When we walk away from our call we become miserable humans. We find ourselves constantly searching for validation in the wrong places by the wrong people.
This is the greatest unhappiness of all – seeking fulfillment and love from those who have no way of filling up the empty hole in our lives. The hole was created when we pushed out the call of God for the favor and validation of man.

What are your favorite types of foods?
I can remember as a very young girl watching in amazement as both my maternal and paternal grandmothers cooked.
Every meal was prepared with love and care. No microwave dinners, no peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Each meal was cooked and prepared from scratch.
From red eyed gravy to cubed steak with gravy. Each meal was filling and full of history. Meals passed on from one generation to another.
What an amazing heritage I have been blessed with. Blessed with the ability to prepare loving meals passed down from generations!

What’s your favorite word?
The greatest lesson I ever learned was “love means saying ‘no.’”
If you truly love yourself and others you will learn there are boundaries in life that must be honored.
To say “yes” to everyone and everything discredits your character and contributes to disrespect from those you cater to.
Choose wisely who you say “yes” to.

What are you doing this evening?
Enjoying My Season in Life
Life is a series of seasons.
Enjoying being able to relax at night without worries of reporting to a job tomorrow.
FaceTiming with grandchildren.
Planning lunches with friends.
Remembering all I have to be thankful for.
Talking with my husband who has stood with me. We raised four daughters together and survived!
I am blessed and grateful.

“Though we are overwhelmed by our own sins, you forgave them all.” Psalm 65:3
When I was a young girl I attended church regularly. I had even gotten “saved.” So I knew about Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit. I had memorized scripture, but I did not have a relationship with God.
Later, I had barely turned 25 years old and my life had become a disaster. I was overwhelmed by my own sins and decisions. I had reached the end of trying to do things “my way.”
I remember vividly the moment I truly surrendered my life and soul to Jesus Christ. He covered me with His love, wrapped me in His mercy and forgiveness and delivered me from self destruction. Now, I don’t just know about Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit I have a relationship with them.
Since that amazing day there have been many blessings in my life. There have been many trials and tears. Unfortunately, there have also been numerous times I have failed and grieved God’s Spirit, but never once did He leave or forsake me.
If you are struggling and feel overwhelmed call out to the one who loves you. Call out to the one who is waiting to hear you call His name. Call out to Jesus. He is waiting for you.
“I cry out to the Lord; I plead for the Lord’s mercy, I pour out my complaints before Him and tell Him all my troubles, when I am overwhelmed you alone know the way I should turn.” Psalm 142: 1-3

What makes a teacher great?
Creativity makes a teacher great.
If a teacher can think and teach outside of the box they can draw students into learning.
Going above and beyond the standard. Reaching out for tools and resources to make learning intoxicating.
Studying their students to personalize learning to meet their needs. It is not a job for the passive. A truly great teacher never gives up!

My Yorkie Terrier loves to be close to me.
She follows me wherever I go. She loves to lay on anything I have worn or anywhere I have slept or sat. Her love for me is unwavering!
No one has ever shown as much love or unconditional loyalty to me on this earth in earthly form.
I know without doubt God loves me and my family loves me, but I must be honest and admit because of human error it can become complicated.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could love each other with the loyalty and faithfulness our pets love us.
Life would be so much sweeter.
