Overwhelmed

Though we are overwhelmed by our own sins, you forgave them all.” Psalm 65:3

When I was a young girl I attended church regularly. I had even gotten “saved.” So I knew about Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit. I had memorized scripture, but I did not have a relationship with God.

Later,  I  had barely turned 25 years old and my life had become a disaster. I was overwhelmed by my own sins and decisions. I had reached the end of trying to do things “my way.”

I remember vividly the moment I truly surrendered my life and soul to Jesus Christ. He covered me with His love, wrapped me in His mercy and forgiveness and delivered me from self destruction. Now, I don’t just know about Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit I have a relationship with them.

Since that amazing day there have been many blessings in my life.  There have been many trials and tears. Unfortunately, there have also been numerous times I have failed and grieved God’s Spirit, but never once did He leave or forsake me.

If you are struggling and feel overwhelmed call out to the one who loves you. Call out to the one who is waiting to hear you call His name. Call out to Jesus. He is waiting for you.

“I cry out to the Lord; I plead for the Lord’s mercy, I pour out my complaints before Him and tell Him all my troubles, when I am overwhelmed you alone know the way I should turn.” Psalm 142: 1-3
