Describe a family member.
Today was a hard day for my frail 85 year old momma. Dementia has consumed her strong independent mind and body, weakened and confused her.
Today I lay in the bed beside my little 4’11” momma. I held her in my arms and apologized for not always appreciating or understanding her. I told her how much I loved her.
My momma was a fireball before this horrible disease consumed her life. She could be hard and as a young girl it stirred up strife and resentment within me.
Later when I became a working mother with children and the stresses of life wore hard on me -my understanding and appreciation of my momma changed from resentment to love and empathy.

Now after six years of caring for her I can’t imagine life without her. The circumstances of life are so heart wrenching. The best we can do is learn from our mistakes, treasure special moments and love others.
May you love more each day.
