There is freedom in letting go of past mistakes and hurts.

The Apostle Paul moved past the fact that he had been a torturer who tried to destroy the church by murdering and imprisoning Christians.

After Paul’s conversion through his incredible encounter with Jesus, he later said, “But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Phil.3:13-14 ESV).

Jacob had been a cheater, but under God’s guidance, he moved forward into his future by returning to his homeland and facing his brother, Esau.

Jacob was able to weep joyfully with Esau because he’d confronted his past in obedience to God.

Paul and Jacob put the past behind them and trusted God with the future. What freedom! What victory and sweet relief!!

If there are things from the past weighing you down, trust God to let go of the things of the past that torment you and have faith to step into the future free and powerful in Jesus Name!
